Antonio Gates plans to return for Week 7

Chargers TE Antonio Gates (foot) plans to get back on the field after the team's Week 6 bye.  "If something was to change physically I would have come back (sooner)," he said. "But ideally, I knew after the bye would be good."  Gates believes the time off over the past 3 weeks will allow him to make it through the rest of the season.  That remains to be seen, but Gates will retain must-start status as long as he's active.
