Antonio Gates likely out through Week 6 bye

Chargers beat writer Kevin Acee confirms that TE Antonio Gates (foot) is likely to be held out through the Week 6 bye.  No surprise here.  It makes no sense for San Diego to rush Gates back for this weekend's easily-winnable game against the Broncos.  TE Randy McMichael will get the start in that one.  Meanwhile, Gates will have had 4 weeks of rest when the team starts preparing for Week 7.  We'll see if that's enough to get him back on the field.
