Antonio Gates expected to play Week 7

Chargers beat writer Kevin Acee expects TE Antonio Gates (foot) to be active for Sunday's game against the Jets.  Acee is one of the most reliable insiders in the game, so his prediction carries a lot of weight.  Gates was actually held out of practice on Thursday, but HC Norv Turner confirmed that it was a planned absence.  Turner also said that Gates' snaps will be limited if he plays this weekend.  "Play him a couple of series and then give him a series out," Turner explained.  Even if Gates plays just 50 or 60% of San Diego's snaps on Sunday, he'll still be a solid fantasy starter.  Check back on Friday for another update.  Gates is expected to practice.
