As the year of the rookie quarterback continues, there are a few rookies out there who haven’t gotten a start yet. There might be another opportunity to cross one off the list, as Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star reports that the Chiefs interim head coach Romeo Crennel hasn’t ruled out giving the start against the Packers to rookie Ricky Stanzi.
He would be following Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Christian Ponder, Blaine Gabbert and T.J. Yates. Also, Jake Locker turned in a solid performance in relief of Matt Hasselbeck, and could get a start next week. That leaves only San Francsico’s Colin Kaepernick and New England’s Ryan Mallett to cover the top nine QBs taken. FYI – there were 12 QB taken total, including Nathan Enderle, Tyrod Taylor and Greg McElroy (taken by Chicago, Baltimore and the New York Jets, respectively).
