In the biggest fight of the year Floyd Mayweather Jr. quieted critics that have stated,” that he may have a problem with a younger fighter.” Mayweather proved that he is still the greatest boxers alive delivering one of his best performances ever along with some audience entertainment.
Before the fight other boxers predicted Mayweather was going to win, but he had to be quicker than a younger opponent, but others critics such as Oscar De La Hoya had Mayweahther not only losing, but getting knocked down.
“Canelo is so calm and mature says Oscar De La Hoya. Nothing gets to him. He is focused. I tell him to stay focused. And keep pumping your jab. That is the key. My world changed after I beat Chavez. Canelo is experiencing the glory and ahead of his time. If he doesn’t knock Floyd out in less than eight rounds, I will be very surprised.”
Mayweather throughout the rounds was throwing clean and crisp jabs that had Canelo Alvarez frustrated. Determined to make a statement with each round Mayweather was the more aggressive and accurate fighter.
The biggest threat to Mayweather was Canelo’s weight. He had weighed in 15 pounds heavier than Mayweather, but Canelo did not use the weight to his advantage . Canelo looked very sluggish through every round . He could not establish any type of dominance when Floyd came in the inside and was very hesitant with throwing jabs. 
Canelo at one point in the match shoved Mayweather hard as he was going to his corner.
Floyd went on to deliver a majority victory and sent Canelo back to the drawing board. Floyd’s inspirational message,” hard work and dedication ” proves that if you push yourself to the limits you can achieve anything. No matter your age or what the critics have said about you go out there and perform at your pace.”
Floyd is 36 years old and looks like he is not retiring no time soon. At 36 years old, Floyd is still a man of perfection and the world will be waiting for his next fight.
