S Tyrell Johnson signed with the Dolphins earlier this week and says the coaches made it clear he'll compete for a starting job. Johnson entered the league 4 years ago as a second-round pick with plenty of promise. He was viewed as a player with the skills to play coverage or come up in run defense. Some say he didn't fit the Vikings' scheme, and Johnson seemed to intimate as much when speaking to Miami media on Thursday. He joins a team that released SS Yeremiah Bell last month. That looks to us like a move to improve the coverage ability at the position. Johnson won't be handed the job but should be considered the favorite. Heading into his age-27 season, he could prove a late-round sleeper in IDP leagues.
