Matt Hasselbeck connected with Damian Williams to give the Titans their first lead since early in the first quarter. Rob Bironas added a field goal and the Titans defense held off a last attempt by Josh Freeman and the Buccaneers. The Titans remained in the AFC playoff picture by improving to 6-5 while the Buccaneers fell further out of a playoff spot by falling to 4-7.
