Tim Hightower could be Redskins’ starter

Pro Football Weekly hears that the Redskins' coaching staff "favors" Tim Hightower as the starting RB.  We can't totally write off the idea considering Hightower was a workhorse for the 'Skins early last year, carrying 84 times in 5 games.  But he's also coming off a torn ACL.  And RB Roy Helu was impressive in his own right last season.  But PFW says "durability concerns" may keep Helu in a secondary role.  There's certainly some merit to that -- he was dogged by toe and ankle injuries late last year and missed time this spring with a bum hamstring.  Helu is also the most talented back in Washington though.  While you never know what HC Mike Shanahan is thinking, we're still betting on Helu leading the team in carries this season.  It'll be a situation to monitor in training camp and preseason.
