After recently lashing out on his former team, the New York Jets, in the media, Braylon Edwards can now add the word “former” to another team as Brad Briggs of the Chicago Tribune has reported that the Seattle Seahawks have waived Edwards.
Edwards will be placed on the waived/injured designation although the nature of the injury remains unclear. Edwards signed as a free agent with the Seahawks in July for a one-year deal and has been largely invisible. Edwards only had eight receptions for 74-yards and one touchdown. Edwards was also a non-factor last season for the San Francisco 49ers.
Edwards was a first-round pick for the Cleveland Browns in 2005, coming from the University of Michigan. His best season in Cleveland came in 2007 when he totaled 80 receptions for 1,289-yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging 16.1 yards per catch.
