Seahawks almost completed a come-back miracle against the Jaguars (30-24)

Seattle, WA- After a win against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Seattle Seahawks was in control of their destiny with attempting to go into Jacksonville and get a win to put pressure on the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams and the Seahawks are fighting for the division, with the Seahawks being a half a game back from the Rams.

In the first half, the Seahawks couldn’t generate any type of production out of their drives. Both Jimmy Graham and Doug Baldwin was held in check for the most part of the first half without any catches. With good field position for four consecutive drives, Seattle killed themselves with holding calls. However, in the second quarter, Russell Wilson started to get hot and was leading his team down the field to get on the scoreboard. Apparently, Wilson did not see the Jaguars’ Safety covering over the top and tried to squeeze it to Baldwin and it was picked off.

The Jaguars did not move the ball after the pick and it was handed over to Seattle after a three and out. After a few three and outs from both teams, Wilson decided to take charge before the end of the half. He was 5-5 and got his team into field goal position to come up with points before the half, but the field goal try was wide right.

Coming out in the second half, the Jags came out and dominated the Seahawks’ secondary. They combined a perfect combination of run and pass that put the Seahawks in an uncomfortable situation. The Jags score on their opening drive to make it 10-0.

Frustration was starting to rise after the Seahawks attempted to answer the score, but Wilson threw his second pick. Back and forth each team went without any production because both defenses were doing their job and make it hard on third down conversions.

After a field goal attempt was successful, the Seahawks recovered a muffed kick return and got the ball around the 40-yard line. Wilson threw a touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin to make it 10-10, but the craziness of this game would just begin. One the next possession, the Rams would capitalize off a 75-yard bomb to Keelen Cole to put the Rams up 17-10.

Seattle’s momentum shifted and they went back to playing conservatively. The Rams put a lot of pressure on Wilson. After the Rams nearly ran a return back, they scored on a yard run, making it 24-10. Wilson threw another pick, which killed another possible field goal attempt.

Wilson would not go down without a fight in the fourth quarter, down by a couple of scores, Wilson threw a bomb to Paul Richardson to cut the led 30-17 and the next possession with three minutes left Tyler Lockett scored, making it 30-24.

Down by six, with only 1:45 seconds left on the clock with the Rams holding the ball, the Seahawks needed a stop. They forced a third down and long, but the Rams sealed the victory by getting a first down in the closing seconds.

With the Rams and Seahawks losing, the fight for the division is on. They play next week and this game could determine the outcome of the division.
