As the New York Jets get ready to play Tim Tebow and the Broncos in Denver on Thursday night, Ryan weighed in on the Broncos controversial quarterback. Ryan indicated he has admired Tebow since his college days at Florida.
“You can go back and when people ask me about him, I thought he was a great competitor and he is a winner, and that’s what he’s showing right now,” Ryan said Monday.
“Are there prettier passers than him? Yeah, absolutely. But again, (we) just (have to) try to find a way to beat him.”
It’s a tough transition as they go from preparing for the Patriots number one passing offense in the league to the Broncos, who only threw 8 passes last weekend in their victory.
“It’s totally different,” Ryan said. “They had 55 runs and eight passes. But each week it’s different. Sometimes they spread you out and then they’ll run it, they’ll do a lot of creative things.”
“In this short a time, we’ve got our hands full.”
