After a loss to the Titans this past Thursday, Pittsburgh running back Rashard Mendenhall took to Twitter excoriating Steeler fans, triblive.com reports.
“Seriously, if you’re going to talk trash about your team and everyone on it, don’t call yourself a fan,” he tweeted. “A fan is a supporter…”
Pittsburgh Steelers fans travel well, a fact Titan’s quarterback Matt Hasselback alluded to, “It was pretty crazy. It must be a Steeler convention in town.”
This season, the Steelers have been decimated with injuries on both sides of the ball, including All Pros defenders Troy Polamalu and James Harrison. The loss to the Titans leaves the Steelers at a disappointing 2-3.
