Payton, Loomis, Vitt to Appeal Suspensions Over Bounty Issue

The various members of the New Orleans Saints that received extended suspensions from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell over the Saints pay-for-performance program, aka BountyGate, will be appealing them.  Goodell had previously stated that they had to make a decision by Monday, April 2.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Saints head coach Sean Payton will be appealing his one-year suspension, and the Washington Post reported later in the day that Saints general manager Mickey Loomis and assistant head coach Joe Vitt will also be appealing their suspensions.

Loomis received a half-year suspension from the NFL, and Vitt received six games for their roles in the program.

Still no word on former Saint and current Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who received an open-ended indefinite suspension from Goodell, which could end up being anywhere from a year to a lifetime ban.

  1. PURVIS

I COULD SEE IF THEY WERE PAID TO PUT SOMEONE SIX FOOT UNDER BUT ALL NFL PLAYERS ARE PAID FOR PERFORMANCE. IF ONE TEAM IS PUNISHED THEN ALL THE TEAMS SOUND BE PUNISHED BECAUSE ALL OF THEM ARE PAID FOR PERFORMANCE . IF PERFORMANCE MEANS TO INJURE SOMEONE THEN SO BE IT . NFL IS FOR GROWN MEN WITH BALLS NOT A BUNCH OF WOMEN WITH [deleted] IF A PLAYER CANT TAKE A FAIR HIT THEN THEY DONT NEED TO BE IN THE NFL .
