In a lopsided win again against the Oakland Raiders (49-20), Philadelphia Eagle’s QB Nick Foles tied an NFL Record. He threw for 7 td’s and had a perfect QB rating (158.3). Foles had entered the game as the starter because Michael Vick has been recovering from a re-aggravated hamstring injury.
Twice this season Foles had thrown a perfect game making it very difficult for Eagle’s head coach Chip Kelly to decide who will finish the season as the starter. Foles had threw td passes to DeSean Jackson, Brent Celek, Zach Ertz, LeSean McCoy, and Riley Cooper. In the win against the Raiders, coach Kelly was asked if Foles would remain the starter against the Green Bay Packers.” It’s gonna be based on health,” Kelly said. “We’ll see.” When asked about Vick’s health Kelly had stated,”Mike is doing a little bit better, but he is still not 100%”
Foles was accurate and on target with his receivers and had shutdown the Raider’s defense that had been improving throughout previous weeks. The Raiders had two key injuries in this game, Oakland Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor and running back Darren McFadden. Pryor left the game with a knee injury while McFadden aggravated his hamstring. Before Pryor left the game, he had thrown for 288 yards and ran for 94 more, but had two interceptions and took two sacks in a shaky performance.
With a victory over the Raiders the Eagles stay in striking distance of the Dallas Cowboys, who are the division leaders in the NFC East and hold a 1 game lead over them.
