NFL and the NFL Players Association met for about four hours Monday in New York City to discuss several issues. While not the purpose of the meeting, the Saints’ alleged “pay-to-injure” program was discussed.
The NFLPA was represented by new NFLPA president Domonique Foxworth, NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith, and two executive committee members – Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees and former Saint, current Browns’ linebacker Scott Fujita. They were also joined by the NFLPA legal team of Richard Berthelsen and Heather McPhee, and outside counsel Richard Smith.
