The Patriots have officially hired Josh McDaniels as their OC. This move was expected after Bill O'Brien took the Penn St. coaching job and McDaniels joined New England as an offensive assistant for the postseason. McDaniels' offenses have struggled in Denver and St. Louis over the past 3 seasons, but he was wildly successful as the Patriots' OC from 2006-2008. The team finished no worse than 11th in total offense and no worse than 8th in scoring over that span. McDaniels has worked wonders with WR Brandon Lloyd, who is a free-agent this offseason. With New England in need of an outside threat in the passing game, it seems like a perfect fit.
