Mike Goodson traded to Oakland

The Panthers have traded RB Mike Goodson to the Raiders.  Carolina had a glut at the position after adding free-agent Mike Tolbert, and Goodson became the odd man out.  Oakland is a nice landing spot though.  He'll battle Taiwan Jones for the #2 role behind Darren McFadden.  Jones may be more talented than Goodson, but he's a walking infirmary.  Goodson is plenty talented himself.  In his only significant action -- back in 2010 -- he averaged 4.4 yards per carry and caught 40 balls.  He'll be a nice passing-down option for the Raiders.  And with McFadden's injury history, Goodson is a solid bet to get a few starts this season.

Update: The Panthers received OT/OG Bruce Campbell in return.  He was Oakland's 4th-round pick back in 2010.
