The Chiefs have named Brady Quinn their starting QB for Week 8. QB Matt Cassel was reportedly cleared from his Week 5 concussion, so this is a flat-out benching. It sounds like HC Romeo Crennel is making a move to send a message to the rest of the team. "During my evaluation and trying to impact the team I felt that probably the most impactful move that I could make to get everybody's attention was to change the QB," Crennel said. Inserting a guy with a career 53% completion rate, 5.4 yards-per-attempt average, and 10:11 TD-to-INT ratio will make an impact -- just not a positive one. Cassel had been pretty bad in his own right, but at least he was getting the ball to WR Dwayne Bowe. The move to Quinn is bad news for Bowe and the rest of the Chiefs' offense (i.e. Jamaal Charles).
