The Cincinnati Bengals squared off against the Dallas Cowboys Saturday night in Arlington. The Cowboys claimed a 24-18 home victory.
Tony Romo has a colossal amount of pressure surrounding him this season after he hit the jackpot with a huge contract extension this summer. Romo looked worthy of just about every penny Saturday night, going 13-18 with 137 yards, and found receivers Dez Bryant and Miles Austin each for a touchdown. Even more encouraging for Cowboys fans though, might be Romo’s zero interceptions on the night. Running back DeMarco Murray carried the ball 12 times for 51 yards.
The Bengals didn’t get much offense on the night, aside from a late touchdown after the starters for both teams were watching from the sideline. Bengals’ starter Andy Dalton went 12-16 for 113 yards and an interception. Starting running back Benjarvus Green-Ellis struggled against the Dallas defense and was limited to five carries for five yards. The Bengals did however get a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown from Brandon Tate early in the first quarter.
Dallas will cap off their pre season Thursday night at home against the Houston Texans. The Bengals will also be at home Thursday as they take on the Indianapolis Colts.
