Consolidated Lawsuit by Former NFL Players Claims NFL Hid Information on Links to Brain Injury

A concussion-related lawsuit joined together several cases that have been filed in federal court.  The lawsuit claims the NFL of hid information that linked football-related head trauma to permanent brain injuries.

The lawyers for former players say more than 80 pending lawsuits are consolidated in the “master complaint” filed Thursday in Philadelphia. Over 2,000 former players are plaintiffs in the various actions.

The former players and their families are seeking to hold the NFL responsible for the care of the numerous players that are suffering from dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological conditions in their post football career days. Some of the former players that are part of the lawsuit and, to the best of their knowledge are currently symptom free, are seeking medical monitoring.
