Brian Hoyer May Have Torn His ACL In The Win Against the Buffalo Bills

The browns have to be worried about their quarterback Brian Hoyer; Hoyer was injured during a play in which he was rushed out the pocket attempting to get a first down. He was trying to avoid a hard hit, so he had slid to try and protecting himself. His legs had gotten caught between Kiko Alonso and was bent in an awkward position. The NFL committee will review the hit to see if Kiko had caused an unnecessary hit on Hoyer.

NFL Media’s Alex Flanagan reported during the tilt that the Browns fear Hoyer tore knee ligaments, and NFL Media’s Albert Breer reported Friday morning that Hoyer is believed to have a torn ACL, per a source briefed on his injury.Facing the uncertainty of how Hoyer will recover from the injury – especially if there are multiple knee ligaments involved –- the Browns will likely be forced to move on without him in their long-term plans. He turns 28 on Oct. 13. If his anterior cruciate ligament is torn, Hoyer could be 30 years old before he’s 100 percent.

This would be a massive set back for the Browns; under Hoyer the Browns have been 3-0 and leads the AFC North.

Hoyer had given not only his team something to play for, but he has revived a city that was in despair. Not too long ago the Browns had traded Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts for draft picks for 2014. Since the injury sustained to Hoyer, there have been some speculation that they were looking at Josh Freeman to add another quarter back on the rooster.
