The Buffalo Bills have signed center Eric Wood to an extension. The Bills reached a deal with Wood Friday afternoon. President and CEO of the Bills Russ Brandon said during the press conference that “This is a great day for the Buffalo Bills. It’s a great day for Eric and his wife Leslie. It’s a great day for Bills fans everywhere to have Eric signed long-term.”
This signing is a big one for Buffalo. Wood was drafted by the Bills and it is important for an up and coming team like Buffalo to sign their draft picks long term. Wood embodies what the new Bills coaching regime is all about: toughness, aggressiveness and a fierce competitor.
As you can imagine, no one is happier about the signing than Wood who feels right at home in Buffalo. “(It is) similar to where I grew up in Cincinnati. A blue collar town, down-to-earth people, good food. Just an area that’s welcoming. People have embraced me since the day I got here and I don’t know if it’s my style of play or just that I was relatable, but people have always embraced me. I knew long term that me and my family would feel comfortable here.”
The Buffalo Bills will now have an anchor on their offensive line for many years to come.
