The Buffalo Bills placed Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kyle Williams on the injured reserve. He has had bone spurs in his foot, which have aggravated his Achilles tendon.
The Bills had just signed a six-year, $39 million contract extension with Williams earlier this season, including $17 million in guarantees, while there were still two years remaining on his existing deal.
Williams had surgery on Wednesday and, according to agent Albert Elias, he is expected to make a full recovery for the 2012 season. Elias tweeted, “Kyle & his family want to thank the Bills Organization, family, friends & most importantly the BILLS Fans for all their prayers & support.”
