ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – The Buffalo Bills announced that the team claimed and was awarded FB Dan Vitale.
Vitale, a 6-2, 225-pound Northwestern product, comes to Buffalo after being drafted in the sixth round (197th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The rookie fullback earned second-team All-Big Ten honors with the Wildcats in 2015 as he led Northwestern with 33 receptions for 355 yards and four touchdowns. Vitale, 21, is a native of Wheaton, Illinois.
The Bills also announced that the team has released LB Jamari Lattimore.
In addition, the team has signed K Jordan Gay and WR Dezmin Lewis to the team’s practice squad. Gay was released by the team on August 31 and Lewis was released by the team on September 2.
