At Least Seven Players Have Surrendered Their Guns since Belcher Incident

During NBC’s Football Night in America, Peter King of Sports Illustrated has reported that in the wake of the murder-suicide involving Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Javon Belcher last Saturday, at least seven NFL players have gone to the security personal on their respective teams and turned in their firearms.

According to King, at least one player surrendered multiple firearms, telling the team that he doesn’t trust himself.

Let’s hope that the seven players who started this trend can make a bigger impact in persuading other players to come forward to turn in their guns to the security personal on their teams as well.

It’s a huge personal decision that each player will need contemplate and ultimately make.
