The Arizona Cardinals began the final week of camp at University of Phoenix Stadium, and the team has been able to avoid the serious injury so far this year, until this afternoon. Defensive tackle Darnell Dockett went down with an apparent ACL tear in his right knee.
First unit offense and defense were doing a live 11-on-11 drill when Dockett engaged in the block that caused him to twist his knee. He then immediately went to the ground in pain holding his leg.
During the next few drills of the day the defensive unit kneeled down and said a collective prayer for their fallen brother. At the end of practice the entire team did the same thing as they were led in the team huddle by a somber Calais Campbell.

Dockett is scheduled to have an MRI to determine the damage, but the look on his teammates faces said it all. The star defensive tackle had recently taken on the roll of a leader in the locker room and on the field, as he led by example. Very unfortunate for a team that could ill afford to lose another key component on its defense.
From all of us at Proplayer Insiders our thoughts and prayers go out to Darnell Dockett, and wish you a speedy recovery.
