Aaron Rodgers Optimistic About Healing

Green Bay Packer’s QB Aaron Rodgers has been optimistic about the healing of  the injury he sustained earlier this season. When asked if he was ready to be in the line up versus the Minnesota Vikings, Aaron responded, “I’m going to be back when I’m ready, when there’s a very low risk of reinjuring  that,” Rodgers said on McCarren’s show. “Obviously, if you have another blow  like I had, displacement of the collarbone could be three to five months of  rehab. So, that’s not what we want. At the same time, we’re 5-5. We might need a  little jolt here at some point.”

“This has just been a waiting game and that’s probably been the hardest part  as they say. Just taking it one day at a time and looking forward to getting  back out there at some point.”McCarren asked Rodgers in a joking manner if he could say, just between them, what game he had circled as a potential return.”I don’t want to get any hopes up, but it is Monday and I never like to rule  myself out of any game,” he said. “That being said … Mike (McCarthy) may have already done that earlier

Rodgers had said, “that the pain he has felt when throwing the football was gone, but the risks of going in the game too early are risky.”

” You know Aaron. You know how competitive he is. He’s like a linebacker  playing quarterback. That’s just his competitive nature,” Packers outside  linebacker Clay Matthews said.”It’s like me sitting out with a broken thumb. Just because I can’t play, it  doesn’t make it any easier sitting on the sideline.”But we need to be a little smarter with him. Not just because of his title  as a franchise quarterback, but the fact that it’s a tricky injury. I mean, you  get hit once and go down once awkwardly and the season’s over.”

The Packers need some type of energy to refuel this organization, in the last three games the Packer’s defense was scorched by penalties, players out position, and a non existent pass rush. The Packers need a win to stay in contention with the Detroit Lions, who are 6-4 and have a 1 and a half game over them.

As for now McCarthy has named third string QB Scott Tolzien as the starter. Tolzien has had trouble identifying blitz schemes and under pressure he forces a lot of balls in tight coverage. Against the New York Giants he had completed 24-34 passes for 339 yards, but he threw 3 interceptions.

The Packers could be in trouble with a loss against the Vikings, with a loss the Packers would be under.500 for the first time since 2008.
