With the 35th pick in the NFL draft, the third in the second round, the Cincinnati Bengals selected TCU quarterback Andy Dalton.
Analysis: Having taken receiver A.J. Green in the first round, the Bengals nab Carson Palmer’s replacement in the second. Dalton was a winner at TCU, where he led the Horned Frogs to a stunning Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin on New Year’s Day this year. He was a fast riser in the weeks leading up to the draft, and if Palmer gets traded or retires as he’s threatened to do, they believe Dalton can learn on the fly in 2011.
Alum: Hall of Fame tackle Anthony Munoz announced the Dalton pick.
