Draft Preview: Browns are on the clock

Dallas, TX- With the NFL Draft days away there are many teams that are looking to draft A-Class talent to help out their organization. There has been speculation in recent weeks that the Cleveland Browns might pick up another QB to help out Tyrod Taylor, but the Browns have not said a word. However, if the Browns do select a QB it could be Josh Allen from Wyoming.

Allen has the height. At 6 foot 5, he can literally throw over a defense. He completes around 56% of his passes and he is a leader on and off the field. He can stretch the field, has excellent vision with seeing one on one match-ups, and loves the big moments that have set him apart from the other Qb’s in this year’s draft, with the exception of Lamar Jackson.

The Browns are a very young team that needs a leader on the field. They have not had that type of QB that will hold other teammates accountable for their miscues in a long time and that is something that Allen can bring to the table. However, if the Browns do not select Allen or a QB for their first pick, they could go after Maurice Hurst from Michigan. He is a stud. In his career, he has had 67 solo tackles. He is very quick with making instinctive decisions, has quick feet, and tackles well. If the Browns do not get someone on the offensive side, why not strengthen their defense up.

Hurst has that game changer mentality and that is something that the Browns desperately needs in order to make changes in the right direction. Their strengths if any last season was the pressure that they got on certain teams. They have some guys on the edges that could create problems for other teams, but it was inconsistent. They need players to be consistent and that is what Hurst brings to the table.

Last season they were ranked 14th in the league, so why not go after a player that has the skill-set to dominate a game on the defensive end. The Browns need to do some spring cleaning this year with getting players that want to play. They went 0-16 last season and needs a boost of confidence to go into training camp with a chip on their shoulders. With bringing Taylor, Javris Landry, and Damarious Randall in the Browns seem to look good on paper, but let us see what surprises they may pick during the draft on Thursday.
