Lions Sign Hope and Release Robiskie

The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed S Chris Hope and released WR Brian Robiskie. Contract terms were not disclosed.

Hope brings 11 years of NFL playing experience to the Lions secondary, with previous stints in Pittsburgh (2002-05), Tennessee (2006-11) and most recently Atlanta in 2012. In 18 games (two postseason) with the NFC South Division Champion Falcons last season, Hope started four contests and recorded 12 tackles (seven solo) and one fumble recovery.

A 2008 Pro Bowl selection, Hope has started 113-of-163 career games played, including every game for the Steelers in 2005-06 en route to the team’s 21-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL. Originally drafted by Pittsburgh in the third round (94th overall) of the 2002 NFL Draft, his career totals include 527 tackles, four sacks, 20 interceptions, one touchdown, 50 pass defenses, four forced fumbles and eight fumble recoveries.
