The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced the signing of wide receiver Derek Hagan. Hagan (6-2, 210) enters his eighth year in the NFL, having played in 83 games with 10 starts, totaling 129 receptions for 1,480 yards and six touchdowns. The team also announced the waiving of wide receiver Jheranie Boyd.
The Chicago Bears waived undrafted rookie CB Maurice Jones today. The Bears roster now stands at 89 players.
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed two first-year players in cornerback LIONEL SMITH and punter KEN PARRISH, the club announced. Both players participated in the club’s mandatory minicamp this week on a tryout basis.
Smith has spent time with Dallas and Detroit since entering the league as a rookie free agent with the Cowboys in 2012. He spent time on the Lions’ practice squad last season. Parrish has spent time with San Francisco, Philadelphia, the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2007 with the 49ers.
The Philadelphia Eagles announced they have agreed to terms with QB MATT BARKLEY on a four-year contract. Barkley will become the seventh of eight Eagles 2013 draft choices to sign with the team.A four-year starter for the Trojans, Barkley finished his career with over 12,000 passing yards and became the only player in conference history to throw for over 100 touchdowns (116) in a career.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed their second of two fourth-round draft picks from the 2013 NFL Draft, quarterback LANDRY JONES. Financial terms of the four-year deal were not disclosed. The Steelers have now signed each member of their 2013 NFL Draft class.
