The Dallas Cowboys traded down after failing to grab a player they felt worthy to play for America’s team. With the 31st pick, the Cowboys went out and grabbed an even more unknown prospect, Wisconsin center Travis Frederick.
The silent Radio City Music Hall erupted with a chorus of boos and it seems that Jerry Jones might have some explaining to do about his choice.
Frederick was a player that would surely have been available outside of the first round, and maybe even the second round as well. With bigger team needs existing, Frederick was certainly a surprising pick. Safety Matt Elam is the perfect example of a player that would have been a nice fit in Big D.
Frederick is a solid anchor that is capable of playing all three positions along the offensive line. However, he is not a highly mobile blocker that often gets tripped up.
Things are never what they seem to be in Dallas, and their selection of Frederick will just add to the storylines surrounding the Cowboys, sorry Dez.
