The proverbial doormats of the AFC North headed into the NFL Draft with a major needs in the defensive secondary, quarterback, and receiver.
So it should shock no one that the Browns went out and made a head-scratching pick. With the sixth overall pick of the draft, Cleveland selected LSU’s Barkevious Mingo, a decision not taken well by Browns faihful in attendance.
Though Mingo is a talented prospect, a player like Alabama’s Dee Milliner would have made much more sense. As it stands, he will join former-Raven Paul Kruger as the newest additions to the Brown’s defense.
The Browns have now improved their defense and should continue to look to add another offensive talent in the later rounds of the draft.
