Alfred Morris and Other Redskins Players Gets in to the Macy’s Christmas Spirit

For Christmas Macy’s Department Store across America are holding their annual “A Million Reasons to Believe in Santa” campaign, urging children to write letters to Santa Claus. For each letter written to Santa Claus and turned into their stores, Macy’s will donate $ 1, up to $ 1 million dollars.

According to Sarah Kogod of the Washington Post, children at the Washington Redskins community event had the chance to do exactly that. But the children weren’t the only ones writing letters to Saint Nick.

Some of the Redskins players also got in on the act. Players included Fred Davis, Logan Paulsen and Alfred Morris.

Fred Davis asked for Power Rangers, Transformers, a Super Nintendo and a playoff berth. Logan Paulsen asked for world peace, a puppy, score a touchdown and also a playoff berth.

But Alfred Morris wrote a different kind of letter to Santa. Morris wrote from the heart of someone who is grateful for the life he’s been given.

“Dear Santa,” Morris wrote. “I’m writing not to ask for a gift, but to ask you what you want for Christmas? You give every year and it’s your turn to receive, because it’s not always about receiving. Sincerely, Alfred Morris.”

Currently, Macy’s has received 674,149 letters to Santa, leaving only 325,851 more letters to Santa to reach one million.

Morris truly sees that he’s been given a “Wonderful Life” and here’s hope that his Christmas spirit of giving than receiving spreads for those less fortunate this season.
