Week 12 Review
QB:
Upside Play: Eli Manning: Eli got back on track coming off of the bye Sunday night against the Packers. Eli got reacquainted with Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks on his way to 249 yards and 3 scores. The Giants could be beginning there typically late season surge.
Sleeper Play: Ryan Fitzpatrick: Fitzy was a bit of a disappointed in what shaped up to be a favorable matchup. He was only able to put up 180 yards, with 1 Td and 1 Int. Stevie Johnson is starting to get back on track for the Bills heading into the fantasy playoffs.
RB:
Upside Play: CJ Spiller: Spiller toped the century mark on Sunday as ecpescted. However he was kept out of the endzone and from a great fantasy week. The return of Fred Jackson keeps Spiller from becoming an elite RB option heading down the stretch.
Upside Play: Matt Forte: Forte amassed a tough 42 yards on the ground before leaving the game with an inury against the Vikings. Forte doesn’t appear to hurt too badly but if you don’t already own Michael Bush, it would be a good idea to grab him if possible.
Upside Play: Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter: Hunter was lost for the season on Sunday against the Saints while Gore ran for 83 yards on only 19 carries. With Kaepernick running the show now, Gore may be losing a few carries which could hurt his overall production. He still remains a must start.
Sleeper Plays: Jalen Parmelee and Bryce Brown: Well the Bryce was right on Monday night! Brown ran for an amazing 178 yards and 2 TD’s, as well as 4 receptions for another 11 yards surprising even myself who started him in 3 leagues. With 2nd and 3rd string offensive lineup, Brown looked very impressive, combining both power and speed.
The Eagles who are out of the playoffs, may not be in a rush to bring LeShon McCoy back who could bode well for Brown owners. Two fumbles by Bryce were the one negative on the evening. Parmelee too was on his way to a career day before a what amounts to be a season ending injury ended his day. Rashard Jennings returns to full time duty until MJD can return.
WR:
Upside Play: Roddy White: Well it was Julio Jones’ turn last week to tear it up. Jones’ big day left White with less than stellar numbers, 5 grabs for 57 yards. Both Jones and White remain must starts in all formats.
Sleeper Play: Donald Jones and the disappointing Bills threw up another dud last week, Jones was only able to produce 4 receptions for 19 yards.
TE:
Upside Play: Vernon Davis. After a great first game with new QB Colin Kaepernick, Davis put up the fantasy “goose egg”. Didn’t see that one coming. Davis look to be a favorite of Kaepernick. Lets hope its just an anomaly, and Kaepernick can utilize the very
talented Vernon Davis.
WEEK 13 PICKS:
QB:
Upside Play: Andy Dalton. Dalton will become the next QB to take advantage of a very disappointing Charger team. Dalton has quietly made himself a topt 7 fantasy QB this season. Look for AJ Green to get back in the endzone after having his TD streak ended last week. Mohamed Sanu has given Dalton another red zone weapon to go along with the super talented Green.
Sleeper Play: Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill should find some daylight in the Pats secondary. With the Dolphins certainly having to abandon the run in what should be a game of catch up, Tannehill should approach 300 yard swith a couple of TD’s.
RB:
Upside Play: Mikel Leshoure: Leshoure could very well have his best day on the ground this week against the Colts at home. The colts have been giving it up in bunches on the ground this season. Joique Bell is also a could start at the flex of if you are hurting at the RB position.
Upside Play: Ahmad Bradshaw. Look for Bradshaw to grab a lot more touches going forward now that Andre Brown is out for the season. Brown was stealing a good bunch of carries and goal line opportunity from Bradshaw. The talented David Wilson could and should earn some more opportunity, but I don’t the coach Coughlin completely trusts him yet.
WR:
Upside Play: Pierre Garcon: Garcon finally looks healthy and what saw what that can produce on Thanksgiving against the Cowboys. RG3 has been great this season and for the most part that has been without his best weapon in Garcon. Look for 80 yards and a Td this Monday night against the Giants.
Sleeper Play: Mike Williams. Williams should benefit from Vincent Jackson getting a lot of attention from his ex division foe Denver Broncos. Williams speed will get him a few deep looks from Josh Freeman, I see 80 yards and a score.
TE: Rob Housler: Housler looks to be rookie QB Ryan Lindley’s favorite target. Housler continues to out produce Larry Fitzgerald. As long as Lindley is at the helm, roll with Housler. Expect 6 receptions for 50 yards and a score.
