The Jets are 3-6 and have not won a game since October 14th vs. the Colts. In NFL talk, that’s along time ago. The Jets just recently waived DE/LB Aaron Maybin, who signed with the Jets early last year after being waved by Buffalo. He was an 11th overall pick just a few years ago. This could be just the beginning of changes with this roster if things keep going the way they are.
Many players who fans have watched over the last four to five years maybe gone by the end of the season, players like Calvin Pace, Shonn Green, Bryan Thomas, and Matt Slause, even Bart Scott could be gone. These are players who helped the Jets to two AFC championship games just two years ago; however, things change quickly in this league. Some of these players and others are a little older and nicked up with injuries this year, and it has really hurt the production of the team as a whole.
The quarterback situation continues to be a perplexing problem now as well, but I believe there’s been more than enough analysis of this. Rex Ryan insists Sanchez is his guy, and most likely Tim Tebow will not be with the Jets next season.
The Jets need to get younger and faster and that starts in the off season. Right now there is still a chance for a playoff spot, highly doubtful the way they are playing, but still a chance. They must win the rest of their games, and it all starts Sunday in St.Louis vs. the Rams. As Ryan said, “This a must win. Period.”
“The goal is the playoffs and we must win Sunday.”
The Jets will go against there former Offensive Coordinator Brian Schottenheimer who holds the same position for the Rams. He was pushed out of New York because many fans and even media did not like his play calling. This could be an interesting chess match with his offense and the Jets defense. Let the playoffs begin!

On the injury front for the Jets, wide out Jeremy Kerley (heel, hamstring) and LB Calvin Pace (personal reason) did not practice Friday. Both will play on Sunday. Questionable for Sunday are RB’s Bilal Powell (concussion) and Joe McKnight (ankle), Bart Scott (toe) and nose tackle Sione Pouha (back). Ryan hopes all four of them can play.
The Jets just recently hired a former three time Pro Bowler for them in the 90′s as a scout – Aaron Glenn. He was a first round pick in 1994. He played nine seasons in New York and will surely be a future Ring of Honor player for the Jets. It’s always nice to see former players coming back to the organization in different roles. It keeps the history alive.
