The NFL has fined Ravens linebacker Dannell Ellerbe $10,000 for striking a defenseless player in the head a neck region during the Ravens’ win over the Cleveland Browns this past Sunday.
Ellerbe was handed a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty during a pass play in which he crashed into Trent Richardson, but Ellerbe doesn’t agree the hit is worthy of a fine, the Baltimore Sun reports.
“Yeah, they fined me,” Ellerbe told the Baltimore Sun. “I appealed it already. I jumped the pass and when he missed it, I hit him. They need to get rid of this fine. It’s B.S.”
