Since Michael Vick began the season as a turnover machine there has been talk that his days in Philadelphia may be coming to an end.
On Sunday NFL Countdown ESPN’s Adam Shefter reports that Vick’s contract guarantees him a $3 million dollar salary if he is still on the Eagles roster three days after the Super Bowl. However, the contract also gives the Eagles the option of releasing Michael Vick without any financial obligation to him with no hit to their salary cap.
And if Michael Vick continues his poor performance this season that is exactly what the Eagles plan to do according to Shefter. That is unless Vick can turn his season and the team around and take them deep into the playoffs.
Even though the Philadelphia Eagles are currently in 1st place in the NFC East with a 3-2 record it seems like a team heading in the opposite direction. Vick currently has 6 interceptions, 8 fumbles and has been sacked 15 times.
After the Lions the Eagles next four games are home against the Atlanta Falcons, at New Orleans, then two division rivals with the Dallas Cowboys at home before traveling to face the Washington Redskins.
