NFLPA Votes to Recertify as a Union

The NFLPA has completed the necessary votes to recertify as a union today, multiple sources are reporting. Players have been voting this week at their team facilities, and while the vote was expected, it is an important milestone.

Now that the NFLPA is a union once again, they can work with the league to collectively bargain the remaining issues with an eye toward completing a new Collective Bargaining Agreement by August 4 in time for the official start of the league year. The issues that need to be collectively bargained include things like player benefits, drug testing and the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
