VIDEO New Orleans Saints safety Roman Harper has signed a four-year contract, worth $28 million, with $16 million guaranteed, reports Mike Triplette of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Harper has been one of the cornerstones of the Saints defense since he was drafted in 2006, and his loyalty and hard work have paid off with his new contract.
ProPlayerInsiders was able to catch up with Harper during the New Orleans Saints player-organized offseason workouts to discuss the importance of working out together in motivating each other and building a cohesive team.
Harper said, “It’s always easy to say that you’re working, but when you’re able to do it together and your teammates see how hard you’re working and you’re putting in work together, it really goes a long way. Not just off the field, but on the field as well.”
Harper’s teamwork and leadership have been one of the keys to the Saints defense, and with his new contract in hand, it looks like he’ll be able to continue to fulfill that role for years to come.
