NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora says he expects RB DeAngelo Williams to re-sign with the Panthers. Frankly, this move wouldn’t make a ton of sense. DE Charles Johnson should be the team’s top priority as far as re-signing its own free agents. Also, why would Carolina outbid other suitors for Williams when the team already boasts a backfield of Jonathan Stewart and Mike Goodson. Another primary piece would be a luxury, and the Panthers have plenty of other needs. For Williams’ part, why return for anything less than you can get elsewhere? He figures to be one of the most interesting free agents for fantasy folks, so we’ll all be watching closely.
