“Jets fly high in rain” win 27-7 over Bengals

Plaxico Burress starting to look good in green and white. Burress had three catches for 66 yards including a great over the shoulder catch in the endzone to give the Jets a 10 point lead going into halftime. As burress said after the game, “Feels like I never left”. Also having a good game last night was quarterback Mark Sanchez going 12 for 20 for 173 yards. He also had two touchdown passes, one to Burress and a 16 yard pass to Santonio Holmes. However it wasn’t all positive for the offense last night. As Brian Costello reported in the NY Post, the Jets starting offense only ran for 16 yards (156 total for the game). That’s of concern. The offensive line must help open holes for the backs to keep the offense rolling into the regular season. The defense was active as well. They had two interceptions that led to 10 points. The first pass was picked off by safety Eric Smith that led to a 16 yard touchdown pass to Holmes. The second interception was by Jim Leonhard that led to a field goal.
