Vick to Start Sunday, Plans to Do More Sliding

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is planning to start on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, now that his broken ribs have had a couple of weeks to recover.

Talking about how he plans to avoid missing more games, Vick replied, “Sliding. Getting down.

He went on to explain, “”I’ve made my mind up. There’s going to be times when I can’t get the extra yards. I gotta get down. I get too caught up in the game sometimes, but that leads to me being sidelined, not being accountable for the team on Sunday.”

Vick has missed the last three games with broken ribs, and has missed playing time already this season with another rib injury and a concussion.

Although the Eagles are playing the Dolphins, and both teams are currently 4-8, they couldn’t be more different.  Miami is playing as well as anybody in the league after their 0-7 start.  They have won 4 of their last 5, with convincing wins over Buffalo and Oakland.  The Eagles have lost 4 of their last 5, and were dominated in several games.  Vince Young has played well in relief, but this has turned into a rebuilding year in Philadelphia.
