The Buffalo Bills announced today that they have fired defensive coordinator George Edwards and promoted Dave Wannstedt to the position. Wannstedt has been a successful DC in the past for the Dolphins and Cowboys, and also served as head coach of the Bears and Dolphins.
The Bills defense declined significantly throughout the season, as they suffered key injuries including George Wilson and Shawne Merriman, who missed much of the year.
