The Steelers have activated RB Rashard Mendenhall (knee) from the PUP list. It’s surprising news considering reports on his recovery from last December’s torn ACL haven’t been good. He didn’t start running until June and just resumed doing "some" cutting a couple weeks ago. ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirms that Mendy still isn’t expected to be ready for Week 1. "Could miss most of September," Schefter tweeted. But the fact that the Steelers activated him means they expect him to be ready well before Week 6 . While we’re still not banking on Mendenhall providing much fantasy value less than a year removed from a shredded knee, his expedited return is bad news for RB Isaac Redman. His fantasy value was dependent on a healthy workload, but that’s now in jeopardy with this Mendenhall news. Redman is also dealing with groin and hip injuries. He just took a tumble down our RB rankings.
