The Chicago Bears opened the 2012 season with a twenty-point victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
During Sunday’s week 1 game, the Bears defense forced five turnovers. Andrew Luck passed for 309-yards and a touchdown, but the Bears defense got the best of him intercepting him three times.
While the Bears offense got off to a slow start they managed to pull it together. The Bears were lead by the running of Matt Forte and Michael Bush who combined for 122-yards and three touchdowns.
Also, Jay Cutler re-connected with his old friend Brandon Marshall nine times for 119-yards and a touchdown.
Bears cornerback Tim Jennings picked off Andrew Luck twice to get off to a great start to the season. The team is expecting Jennings to have a break out season.
Bears defensive end and friend of Pro Player Insiders celebrity barber JayBee, Israel “Izzy” Idonije started his ninth season for the Bears after beginning his career as an undrafted free agent in 2003. Idonije started his career on the practice squad in 2003 and has been a vital part of the Bears defense since the 2004 season.
Izzy is well known for his versatility, including his ability to play both defensive tackle and defensive end while blocking kicks. He has also played gunner on the punt coverage team.
Not only is Izzy doing good things on field but he also works hard off the field with his foundation The Israel Idonije Foundation. The foundation exists to extend positive life-changing opportunities to families and individuals in economically disadvantaged communities.
Izzy also has a special relationship with Jay-Bee. Idonije has been a client and friend of Jay-Bee for six years now. They first met during the Bear’s run to the Super Bowl in 2006 after the team’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
Like his play on the field, his relationship with Jay-Bee is still strong and he enjoys “cutting it up” with his friend and barber.
