Buffalo Bills owners Ralph Wilson Jr. has been hospitalized due to an mild infection, but is in good condition according to the team.
Wilson’s health has been in decline the last several years as he has been plagued by balance issues. This has led to the 93-year-old Wilson being confined to a wheel chair and if he does stand it is with the help of a walker.
In May of 2011 Wilson was hospitalized after he fell in his home and broke his hip. He recovered from the accident, but only attended one home game last year, because of his mobility issues.
The last time Wilson was seen was at a Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremony to unveil a new building that will house 20 million pages of documents and three million photos. Wilson donated $2.5 million to help build the new building.
Wilson does keep in contact daily with Bills CEO Russ Brandon and General Manager Buddy Nix, so negotiations with Erie County over a news lease should continue. The team is seeking Erie County and New York State to pay the majority of the estimated $200 million to renovate Ralph Wilson Stadium.
The big question is though will the news change the terms that Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz is seeking in negotiations for a new lease?
