Today marks one year to the day since NFL player leadership voted to recommend the settlement to the class of Brady v. NFL plaintiffs.
On July 25, 2011, then-NFLPA President Kevin Mawae took roll call of Player Representatives from each NFL team voting on the terms of the settlement agreement. The vote was unanimous. The lockout, which lasted approximately 4 ½ months, was over and action would soon return to the fields and out of the courtrooms and board rooms.
Watch an exclusive video, never seen before today, of the vote, which occurred at NFL Players Association headquarters on a hot July day in Washington, D.C.
The one-year anniversary also allows for a chance to relive some of the key moments that took place during the NFL lockout, leading up to the player vote.
Watch a photo retrospective in the form of a video slideshow of some of those events.
August 4, also the day of Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions this year, will mark one year since the NFL’s players voted to ratify the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, which allowed the league year to begin.
