Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver on Tuesday won “Dancing with the Stars.” Well Driver can add getting his own day to his resume as Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker declared today Donald Driver Day.
Walker in a proclamation wrote, “With his family and fans in the audience wearing cheese heads … Driver and his professional dance partner, Peta Murgatroyd, won the coveted mirror ball trophy as voted by viewers and the judges in the 14th season of the ABC network program — ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ ”
Driver isn’t the first NFL player to win the competition as former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith won it in 2006 and former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward won it in 2011.
There was some talk recently about Driver not returning for a 14th season, but Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy put that one to rest on Tuesday.
“I would anticipate he’d be involved in the workouts next week,” McCarthy said.
So, just like another win in the NFL Driver gets to enjoy his victory and then has to get back to work.
