About 120 former NFL Players joined with some current players to take a break from the meeting rooms for the NFLPA annual golf outing. The players are holding their annual meeting in Marco Island, Florida this week and the golf outing provided an opportunity to share some camaraderie and enjoy the sun with players from across the history of the game.
Here’s a few of the highlights:
The team of Ken Jolly (who played for Kansas City in the mid 1980s), Larry Mallory (who played for the Giants in the late 1970s), Byron Williams (also a Giant, from the early 1980s) and Ray Mickens (a New York Jet from the late 1990s to early 2000s) had the best score for former players at 58.
Cardinals kicker Jay Feely, Jets DB Jim Leonhard and Dolphins DE John Denney won the active players with the low score of 57.
2nd place flight consisted of Derrick Frost, Lynn & Tom DePaso and Ned Ehrlic.
3rd flight winner was Ted Vactor, Brig Owens, George Taliaferro and Willie Crenshaw.
Closest to the pin (#16) went to Patrick Batten
Closest to the pin (#8) went to Byron Williams.
